Located on the Costa Dorada and very close to the PortAventura World theme park, the Ponient Dorada Palace Hotel in Salou offers an accommodation experience with a strong focus on family and holiday tourism. Just a few minutes from the beach, this four-star hotel stands out for its various swimming pools and terraces, which expand the leisure possibilities offered by its location next to the park and the Mediterranean Sea. During its latest refurbishment, Manusa was responsible for the comprehensive installation of standard automatic sliding doors at the hotel's exterior accesses, including both the main entrances and the access points to the terraces and swimming pools.

In the hotel sector, doors must ensure accessibility for all types of users, including service personnel, customers with luggage, pushchairs, or individuals with reduced mobility. Comfort, understood as the creation of an environment designed for rest and well-being, is also a key factor. And in an establishment such as the Dorada Palace, which concentrates its activity during the warmer months and with a constant flow between indoors and outdoors, it is essential to optimise air conditioning and, at the same time, energy efficiency.

To address these challenges, Manusa installed a set of automatic sliding doors with central and side opening, all with fixed panels, at the hotel's exterior entrances. Their sensors and high opening and closing speed allow for smooth, contactless traffic flow, facilitating the movement of people. This ensures convenient, safe, and autonomous access for both guests and hotel staff.

The speed of opening and closing also helps maintain the interior temperature, as the doors remain open only for as long as is necessary. This also minimises the entry of humid air from outside, which is common in coastal areas such as Salou and can further accentuate the feeling of heat in summer. In this way, Manusa's solution contributes to energy savings and improves thermal comfort conditions.

But in a hotel, comfort also includes acoustics. So, keeping the interior free from excessive noise is essential. The sliding doors installed by Manusa reduce exposure to the hustle and bustle of swimming pools, terraces, or outside traffic, promoting a peaceful atmosphere in both common areas and other spaces near the entrances.

Finally, Manusa has taken special care to ensure integration with the architectural design. The doors have been customised with aluminium frames on both the movable and fixed panels, providing continuity with the hotel's window design. This solution allows the doors to blend visually into the façade and makes them easily identifiable, which is reinforced by the incorporation of translucent vinyl dots on each leaf. The glass doors also allow natural light to enter, maintaining the visual connection between the interior and the terrace and pool areas. In this way, Manusa has contributed to the comfort, efficiency and accessibility of the Ponient Dorada Palace hotel without compromising on careful integration with the original design of the building.
